|Chinese New Ambassador Mme. Ou Boqian Presented Her Credentials to Governor General of Grenada|
On June 13th, 2013, H.E. Mme. Ou Boqian, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Grenada, presented her Credentials to H.E. Dr. Cecile La Grenade, Governor General of Grenada.
Ambassador Ou conveyed the cordial greetings of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Governor General H.E. Dr. Cecile La Grenade and the best wishes of Chinese government and people towards the government and people of Grenada. She said that she congratulated the great achievements obtained by Grenada in safeguarding its state sovereignty, developing its national economy and improving its people's lives. She also wishes Grenada achieve more in the future.
Ambassador said it was her great honor to be appointed as the Ambassador to Grenada and she was also keenly aware of the great responsibility of this honorable mission. Since the resumption of the diplomatic relations between the two countries, the bilateral relationship has been developed quickly, which was embodied in maintaining high-level contacts, political mutual trust continuously increasing, fruitful cooperation in economic, cultural, educational and other fields. On this basis, the friendly and cooperative relations of the two countries should be continuously consolidated and developed. Just recently, Chinese President Xi Jingping met with Prime Minister Dr. the Right Hon. Keith Mitchell in Trinidad and Tobago and reached a series of consensuses on the direction of development of bilateral relations, the key areas of cooperation, which will provide guidance to further pushing forward the bilateral relations. Mme. Ou said she would make her efforts to comply with the consensuses and further develop the Sino-Grenada bilateral relations during her tenure.
Governor General H.E. Dr. La Grenade asked Ambassador Ou to convey her warm greetings to President Xi. She also extended her welcome and congratulations to Ambassador Ou and wishes her success in her work. Dr. La Grenade said that she was satisfied with the development of the bilateral relations since the resumption of diplomatic ties and thanked Chinese government for its generous aids in the fields of agriculture, human resource training, low-income housing and infrastructure constructions. She is fully confident the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries could be further strengthened. She expressed her high evaluation for the meeting between President Xi and Prime Minister Mitchell, which will pour new vitality into the development of bilateral relations.
Ambassador Ou Boqian arrived in St. George's, Grenada on May 11th, 2013.
