The government of the People’s Republic of China provides two kinds of scholarship to Grenadian young and the middle-aged talents: Chinese Government Scholarship and MOFCOM Scholarship.

Chinese Government Scholarship is set up by Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China with Bachelor’s program for 4-5 years, Master’s program for 2-3 years or PhD program for 3-4 years.

MOFCOM Scholarship is set up by Ministry of Commerce of People’s Republic of China, with Master’s program for 2-3 years or PhD program for 3-4 years.

1. Eligibility: To be eligible, any applicant must

a) be a citizen of Grenada;

b) be engaged in China-Grenada cooperation and communication;

c) be a high school graduate under the age of 25 when applying for undergraduate programs;

d) be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs; (45 for MOFCOM Scholarship)

e) be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs;(45 for MOFCOM Scholarship)

f) be in good health, with no mental or infectious disease;

g) be with no criminal records;

h) be with no bad habit of taking marijuana or drugs.

2. Application Documents Required

a) Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (in Chinese or English);

b) Notarized highest diploma: Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school;

c) Notarized Academic transcripts;

d) A Study Plan or Research Proposal in Chinese or English; (A minimum of 200 words for undergraduates, 500 words for non-degree students, and 800 words for postgraduates)

e) Recommendation letters: Applicants for graduate programs or senior scholar programs must submit two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English from professors or associate professors;

f) A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy should be kept by the applicant. The form designed by the Chinese quarantine authority can be downloaded from http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina or www.campuschina.org. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months. )

g) Valid Passport and the transcript.

3. Application Procedure

a) Applicants should submit all the application materials listed above to the Scholarship Desk of Ministry of Education of Grenada, who is responsible for preliminary screening. The name-list of nominees will be submitted to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Grenada.

b) Interviews will be held by the Embassy for final recommendation shortlist.
